Thanksgiving (November 17-20)

Happy Helpers -  Monday - Phoebe; Tuesday - Sawyer ; Wednesday - Tommy ; Thursday -Zane
 Tuesday - Bake Sale (bring $1)
Thursday -  Thanksgiving Feast (11:00-11:30) Send in item Thursday morning for Thanksgiving feast (from sign up genius)
No library this week.

What We Will Learn This Week:
  • Bible - Psalm 139:4 - The children are doing great at memorizing verses. Please continue to work on these at home and ask him/her to show you the motions we made up to each one.
  • Book of The Week - Cranberry Thanksgiving by Wende & Harry Delvin.  No Narration this week.
  • Phonics/Reading/Writing - Unit 2, week 2.  Letter formations & review writing upper/lower case letters A-H.  Tap and write words (consonant/vowel/consonant), Rhyming & word families. Journals for creative writing, Handwriting/tapping book, Alphabet sequencing
    Trick Words -a, the, I  - New flash card sheet sent home Monday. Cut apart and review. (Please review all color and number words. The students should know all of them at this point.)
  • Math - Comparing weights using balance, visual discrimination (matrix), AB/ABB patterns (read color words), estimation journals
  • Centers - Decodable reader "The Big Trip", Headbands with patterns, bead bracelets, turkey pine cones, Roll a turkey math game; Listening center
  • Habit - Courtesy
Homework: 

  • Read Words on Reading practice sheet (new one sent home Monday or Tuesday)
  • Homework Sheet - Tuesday
  • Decodable Reader - Wednesday (read & sign)
  • No Book of the Week narration this week 

Other At Home Ideas:
Learn Phone number & how to tie shoes. Play games (board games, memory, etc.), read nursery rhymes, read books every day to your child, word of the day or week (vocabulary), listen to books on cd/ipod in car with no visuals (aid in auditory comprehension).
